Baby's First Ultrasound

OCTOBER 11, 2008
Although we were anxious to share our news we wanted to hold off till the first trimester was well underway. It was ecspecially hard for me to keep this secret particularily because the nauseau and fatigue were so overwhelming.
It was important to us to be able to tell family and friends the news in person as much as possible. Thanksgiving dinner together in Grand Rapids at my sister, Miriam, and brother-in-law, Matt's house, gave us the perfect opportunity to share our news with one side of the family. Everyone was very happy and suprised, except for my Dad, who had been trying to tell everyone his suspicion that we were pregnant.
Having a Doctor in the family made the day even more special as Matt offered to give us our first private ultrasound!! We were very nervous about the "twin gene" and happy to find out we were only expecting one bundle of joy! (Jeff deleted the twins column from his spreadsheet as soon as we got home) I've always said, if anyone can manage twins it's definitely Miriam and Matt who are blessed with Caitlin and Mackenzie, our adorable nieces.
